We are looking for a Trainee HR Consultant to join our experienced team to work with clients across a broad range of industries in the UK.
This is initially a remote, part-time role for a fixed term of six months, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time, permanent position for the right candidate. There may also be an opportunity to work from one of our client offices 1–2 days per week in the future.
This role may be particularly well-suited to someone currently pursuing a qualification in Human Resources or someone looking to return to work after a career break, with a strong interest in developing a career in HR consultancy within the SME sector.
Role Description
HR and Admin
- Review and update client handbook, contracts and policies based on templates
- Assist in drafting new policies in line with statute and relevant client business requirements
- Conduct ongoing research on changes in employment law including case law
- Assist in complex cases of grievance and disciplinary procedures
- Manage HR admin for clients including updating the HR software portal
- Work with the HR Consultant in drafting monthly employment updates
- Support HR Consultant with client recruitment needs including posting adverts on job portals, reviewing CVs and coordinating interviews for shortlisted candidates
- Assist in any new and ongoing projects including salary benchmarking, employee engagement, etc.
- Assist in preparing relevant employee communication / letters, etc.
- Keep yourself up to date with changes in employment law
- Undertake other reasonable duties as and when required within the general scope of the job
Marketing and Business Growth
- Help manage social media drive and to look for avenues for outreach
- Support in business development activities – including managing weekly posts on social media, looking for and attending networking events
Person Specification
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Quick learner with a proactive approach to acquiring new knowledge
- Foundational understanding of UK employment law
- Good research and analytical skills
